Reopening Details

What you need to know:

  • – We will be holding only one in-person service per week. That means, we will be alternating our English and Chinese service. Our first in-person service on September 12 will be English. The week after, September 19, will be Chinese. Then, September 26, English, and so on. Visit our website for the schedule.
  • – For those watching online: don’t worry, you’ll still see the service of your choice every week. But, there will be a time change. Starting on September 12, all services will begin at 9:30 am.
  • – Depending on the week, you’ll either see a live stream of the in-person service, or the pre-recorded service like you’ve been used to the past 18 months.
  • – First, we are limiting capacity so we can ensure we create a smooth and most importantly safe experience.
  • – If you would like to attend an in-person service, you’ll need to register each week. Visit our website to register.
    • > When you register, you will be asked for your name, your contact information, and how many other members of your household will be attending.
    • > You’ll also be asked a series of COVID screening questions.
    • > Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
    • > If your plans change, develop any COVID symptoms, travel outside of the country, or have a close contact who has tested positive for COVID between the time you register and that week’s service, please email cecc@cecctoronto.com, or contact any of the deacons or pastors to cancel your reservation.
  • – On the Sunday, please arrive between 9:00 am and 9:20 am, but no earlier or later. This will allow our ushering team to seat everyone safely, and start service on time.
  • – Please have the confirmation email ready to show our ushers. They will cross reference it with the list we’ll have.
  • – Our ushers will ask you some COVID screening questions, and guide you to your seat. Members of the same household will be seated together, but otherwise, we will maintain social distancing.

What are some of the ways we’re keeping you safe?

  • – We will be increasing our capacity limit gradually, so we can learn and adapt.
  • – Our ushers will be ensuring that you can be seated in a safe manner that maintains social distancing.
  • – We are minimizing the size of our worship team and streamlining our liturgy.
  • – All of the worship team, from ushers, to worship leaders, to AV crew, to speakers, will be masked, except if they are speaking on the stage.
  • – We will have a plexiglass barrier between the stage and the congregation for when the worship leader is leading as well as the pastor is speaking.
  • – The Sanctuary and washrooms will be cleaned on a weekly basis.
  • – We are working on improving our air filtration system.

Some tips for when you attend in-person service

  • – Masks must be worn at all times. If you don’t have a mask, an usher will provide you with one.
  • – Please maintain your seat for the entirety of the service.
  • – If you need to use the washroom, we’ve opened a couple of them for your convenience. Please make sure there is only one person using the washroom at a time, and maintain social distance as you are travelling in or out.
  • – All other rooms of the church aside from the Sanctuary and washrooms are closed.
  • – When you’re worshipping, please refrain from speaking or singing. We will have worship in songs, but if you’re in-person, feel free to just use your hands to express your worship.
  • – After the service, the ushers will lead you out.

One last thing: we do ask for your patience and grace. Just like when we started our online service, we are starting very simple, and will add additional elements and features as the weeks progress.

If you have any questions, please contact any of the deacons, pastors, or email cecc@cecctoronto.com.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you back. See you soon.
